Christmas by the Sea is a can’t-miss annual event held the second weekend in December. Get ready to step into a Hallmark Christmas movie and take in everything from visits with Santa, tree lightings, hayrides, fireworks, bonfires, arts & craft shows, live music and so much more. There’s literally something for everyone whether you’re on a girls’ trip, family vacation or romantic getaway.
Skiing
Maine is well-known for its gorgeous slopes and Ogunquit has plenty to offer in this regard. If you’re up for a quick drive, then Powderhouse Hill is an excellent option, offering fun for the entire family with 175 feet of vertical, three trails plus an old-school-style rope tow.

Ice Skating
Spend the day ice skating at The Waterhouse Center in Kennebunk. Each year, the open-sided rink welcomes customers in late November, weather and temperatures permitting. The rink is open for skating from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A quick drive down Route 1 will lead you to the Kittery Premium Outlets where you can enjoy amazing deals at boutique stores. The Kittery Outlets are the perfect destination for any last minute shopping needs you might have if you’re in Ogunquit this December.
Winter Photography
Ogunquit offers some of the most beautiful scenery in New England, especially during the winter. If you’re an avid photographer, then get ready to snap breathtaking views from atop Mount Agamenticus. Plus, there are additional picturesque photo ops along the Marginal Way and Perkins Cove.
