We want to make sure that you and your family experience all that our quaint city has to offer during the winter season here in Ogunquit. From sledding to ice skating and exploring to skiing, here are our top seven family-friendly winter activities in Ogunquit.
Walk the Marginal Way
This paved walking trail is open year round for everyone to take advantage of. You can walk this path and see both Perkins Cove and Ogunquit Beach. The surf is stunning and the sunsets are memorable here so be sure to capture photographs of your kids in this beautiful setting.
Plus, with more than 30 benches along the pathway, there are many opportunities to pause and reflect during your stroll.
Sledding and Skiing
Are you all about adventure? Love being active in the outdoors? If so, Ogunquit has plenty of activities to entertain your family. From skiing at Harris Farm in Dayton to sledding at York Country Club, you can get in your adrenaline rush and some beautiful sights this season!
What child doesn’t dream of hopping on a sleigh in the winter time? Better yet, what adult wouldn’t love this as well? If you’re in town during the winter, you don’t want to miss sleigh rides over at Rockin’ Horse Stables. This is a memory that your family will cherish for years to come!
Kittery Outlets has miles of shopping for the family and is the perfect way to finish up Holiday shopping! Stroll with the kids or take a “break” on vacation to have some time to yourself. Enjoy local dining and tons of stores to suit all ages.
Winter is often overlooked in southern Maine, but it’s actually the perfect time to find things that you can’t always discover during the summer. Walk the beaches to discover beautiful shells, stones and sea glass. Seaside towns in Maine experience warmer temps with the Atlantic Ocean averaging in the 40’s, so walking seaside is enjoyable and not at all unbearable. But we definitely recommend bundling up before heading out!
Visit Laudholm Farms
The Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farms has plenty of activities to offer your family (especially your children). With day events for kids, educational camps, preschool mornings and more, there are many things that you can do for the day to explore and learn.
If you’re traveling during the holidays, then you’ve come to the right place. There are many joyous sights to see here in Ogunquit during the holidays. Visit The Nubble Lighthouse where it’s lit festively during the holidays, or enjoy “Christmas by the Sea” in early December here in Ogunquit.
Winter time here is truly beautiful and even magical some will say. Once you’ve decided on Ogunquit for your winter vacation, then be sure to book your stay at the Footbridge Beach Motel where our accommodations are as warm and cozy as our beloved town. We look forward to seeing you!
